General & Cosmetic Services
At your initial exam and every cleaning appointment, we will perform a comprehensive dental exam. We examine the teeth and check for cavities or areas showing abnormal wear. We often take Digital X-Rays, which allow us to see the areas in between or under the teeth. At these exams, we also check for oral cancers or ulcers on the gums, tongue or lips. A head and neck cancer screening is also conducted. Lastly, we assess your jaw to check for any joint dysfunctions. Dr. Steger and Dr. Cuevas recommend you have a comprehensive dental exam twice a year.
Dental Cleanings & Gum Treatments
We have many levels of periodontal care and offer a variety of cleanings and gum treatments to fit any patient’s need. After your initial exam, Dr. Steger or Dr. Cuevas will recommend the type of dental cleaning or gum treatment that is right for you.
A sealant is a clear BPA-free plastic coating brushed and cured to the chewing surface of your teeth to prevent cavities from forming in the deep pits and grooves.
Dental Fluoride Treatments
Fluoride helps prevent tooth decay by making the tooth more resistant to acid attacks from plaque bacteria and sugars in the mouth. It also reverses early decay.

Dr. Steger and Cuevas have a strong belief in patient education and preventative dental care. It’s even more important to start this education and preventative care at a young age. At River City Dental we believe in teaching your child how to properly maintain their teeth so that future dental problems such as cavities do not occur.
With our help, you can make your child’s first visit to the dentist positive and enjoyable. You should inform your child about the visit and tell them that our staff will explain all procedures to them. We happily invite you to stay with your child during their visit. There we can work as a team to ensure that your child takes the first steps in proper dental hygiene.
Our dental team will perform a consultation with you to review your current needs with respect to your specific filling needs.
Our team will perform the application of sealants during one of your bi-yearly regular checkups.
Crowns and Bridges
Crowns and bridges are used to restore and enhance teeth that are damaged, or to take the place of missing teeth.
Root canal treatment (also referred to as root canal therapy or endodontic therapy) is made necessary when a cavity is allowed, through neglect, to reach all the way to this pulp.
Dentures and Implants
A denture is a removable replacement for missing teeth and surrounding tissues. There are two types of dentures available, including partial and complete dentures.
Snoring can be a real problem, not only for the person who snores, but for the partner and other family members who live with the snorer.
At River City Dental our team custom designs mouth guards and night guards for you, which are made of flexible plastic and molded to fit the shape of your teeth.
Tooth whitening can brighten up your entire face, and it is a procedure that is constantly in demand.
Inlays & Onlays
Inlays and onlays are known as indirect fillings, because unlike a standard filling that is done right in our office, both are custom made at our dental laboratory and cemented or bonded to the surface of the tooth by Dr. Steger or Dr. Cuevas.
